Reco Jefferson is a honorably discharged Air Force Veteran. He Graduated Penn State and went on to become a software engineer for a billion-dollar company. He then started his own e-commerce store and managed to make 7- figures out of it.
In this interview, we go over some obstacles he faced and more.
What obstacles did you face to get to where you are now?
I’m a single dad, so making time for kids, my career, and my businesses was difficult. I also grew up with a single mother that worked 2 and 3 jobs most times just to be broke at the end of the month anyway.
How did you overcome these obstacles?
I saw how hard my mom worked when I was younger so I knew I had to come up with a way to make money in my sleep so I wouldn’t follow the same path. I went to college and used my education to fund my businesses. When it comes to my kids and family life, I just sleep less. I automate a lot of the processes involved so I can spend time doing dad things.
**What are your biggest distress tips? **
- When you’re stressed it’s important to breathe and remember that things don’t have to be done immediately. It’s okay to take a step away from whatever you’re doing and breathe.
- I also enjoy going from short drives. I love cars and hearing the engine purr is huge for me.
How do you avoid burnout and a stressful day?
- I focus on just a few tasks per day. I set them out the night prior and include a couple of “stretch” goals that I reach for. If I don’t hit them, that’s okay, I gave maximum effort regardless. It keeps me from losing focus and throwing my thoughts all over.
- When I do feel overburdened, I tend to take a day for myself. No social media, no emails. Just me doing something I love to do.
What are your main tips for a successful habit?
- Start by doing the little things right the first time. Don’t try to skip the process. Focus on perfecting your systems for one project before moving forward on another.
- It’s all about repetition. You’re not going to be an expert day one. No one is. But if you do something enough, you’ll eventually get skilled at it.
**How does your business help others? **
My Amazon automation service helps people generate a passive income. I run the Amazon seller accounts for my clients and they collect the profits. I also have a course that teaches people various ways to make money, whether that be dropshipping on Amazon or running Facebook ads.
**How will you continue to grow and succeed? **
I’ll continue keeping it real and showing people that if you work hard, good things do come your way. Not when you want them all the time, but eventually it will work out.
