- What is your name and what do you do ?
My name is Zazu Moloi. I am a photographer and entrepreneur based out of Scottsdale Arizona.
- **What/Why **inspired you to start taking photos?
From a young age, I was able to recognize an innate desire to constantly feel and be in touch with the world around me in the rawest and truest way possible. Growing up in the day and age of technology, everything is fleeting, but in photography, especially my approach in it, you can capture the uncapturable and make it last forever. I’m taking the millennial approach of connectivity -photos- and rewriting what the means. I am assigning an identity to mere moments, through that identity I am creating permanence, through permanence, never-ending nostalgia, and zeal. I am rewriting the Millennial to be Installenial.
- When/ How long have you been taking photos?
A little over 10 months. That’s a story for another day, haha.
The Process and the Progress
- Your work portrays a lot of high profile celebrities such as MGK. What is it like to be a high profile photographer?
I don’t consider myself to be a high profile person of any sort. I see everyone as human, including myself. Everyone holds a sense of significance and importance and that’s what I capture. People want to be seen, I see people.
- What struggles have you faced stepping into the industry?
Ultimately, I struggled funding the project. The polaroids I take are costly, haha. I struggled to find gigs too.
- How have you overcome these struggles?
To keep it simple, I trust myself and my abilities. I stay genuine. I trust the process.
- What does the future look like for you; what do you hope to accomplish?
The future is glorious. In the end, all I hope to “accomplish” is to keep genuine connections alive and to showcase what it meant to live in the Millenial Age.
